"I got my smile back today! Thank you Dr. Hei for your masterful work I just can't stop smiling. I drive from Red Wing to see Dr Hei, he never judged me or made me feel ashamed of my genetically weak teeth and I have my confidence back. I highly recommend Filson, especially my family. I have found my forever dentist!" - Jeannine

The Importance of Dental Technology

New technology is being developed every day to help make our lives easier. This is no different when it comes to dental technology. New equipment and procedures are constantly being developed so your dentist can give you better and more efficient care. Both Dr. Bruce Filson and Dr. Matthew Hei continue their training in the most current technology and procedures so they can offer their patients the best care in the Bayport, MN area.

Why Technology is Important

Since technological advances in dentistry are being made every day, it can be difficult to keep up with the latest and greatest in dental care. Practices who choose not to update their equipment can make for less effective treatments for patients. Newer technology allows us to give you faster results, less painful and intrusive procedures, and more beautiful smiles. From cosmetic dentistry to gum disease treatment, we can use better technology to give you a better treatment overall.

Modern Procedures We Offer

  • Digital Impressions X-Rays – Gone are the days where we need to use trays and paste to cast an impression of your teeth. With iTero digital impressions, we can get a 3-D image of your teeth directly onto our computers to help diagnose issues and find out how to best treat them. Digital x-rays are also safer and more efficient than traditional x-rays.
  • Laser Dentistry – Lasers are a more precise and less painful way to treat several different dental concerns such as cleanings, tooth decay, and gum disease. The laser causes less pain than using a metal instrument to scratch off the bacteria and tartar on your tooth during cleanings. When used for gum disease treatments they can remove the damaged and infected gum tissue so the healthier gum can reattach to the tooth.
  • Cosmetic Dentistry -  One of the fields that benefits most from newer technology is cosmetic dentistry. We can now fix almost any cosmetic issues from discoloration to missing teeth. Our cosmetic dentistry procedures will give you back the full function of your teeth while keeping your smile cohesive with tooth-colored veneers, crowns, and composite bonding.
